SAFTA snubs SABC soapies ‘Uzalo’, ‘Skeem Saam’, ‘Generations’
No SAFTA wins for SABC soapies ‘Uzalo’, ‘Skeem Saam’, ‘The Estate’, ‘Generations: The Legacy’ and ‘Giyani Land of Blood’.
Popular SABC soapies Generations: The Legacy, Uzalo, Skeem Saam didn’t receive a single SAFTA this past weekend.

SABC SOAPIES SAFTA NOMINATIONS
TVSA reports that the SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation) soapies were snubbed with not a single SAFTA win amongst them.
Generations: The Legacy, Giyani: Land of Blood, Uzalo, The Estate and Skeem Saam received 17 nominations combined but none of them won.
Generations: The Legacy actress Refilwe Madumo was nominated in the Best Actress category as well as Skeem Saam actresses, Elizabeth Serunye and Harriet Manamela and The Estate actress Jo-Anne Reyneke.
Skeem Saam actress Dieketseng Mnisi was nominated in the Best Supporting actress category, while Uzalo, Generations: The Legacy and Giyani: Land of Blood were all nominated in Best Achievement in Scriptwiting category.

SAFTAS WINNERS
Binnelanders and Legacy and Scandal! scooped three SAFTAs. The e.tv soapie also scored Public Vote for Best Soapie in South Africa.
Other winners included e.tv’s fashion drama House of Zwide, Suidooster, The Black Door which scored two awards each.
Mzansi Magic’s cancelled telenovela DiepCity, Diepe Waters, Gomora, Redemption, The River and The Wife all scooped one award each.
