Nandipha Magudumana’s brother bagged R30k from docu-series
In an affidavit provided to the court, Nandipha Magudumana’s brother stated that he was paid R30k to spill the beans on his sister.
Disgraced celebrity doctor Nandipha Magudumana’s brother Nkosinathi Sekeleni was paid R30 000 to spill the beans on Showmax docu-series ‘Tracking Thabo Bester‘.
Bester and Magudumana filed urgent applications to interdict the docu-series airing, which was set to premiere on 15 March. However, on the same day, the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg gave Showmax the greenlight to air the docu-series on the video-on-demand service.
NANDIPHA MAGUDUMANA’S BROTHER PAID R30 000 FOR SHOWMAX DOCCIE
Despite attempting to extort R100 000 for his silence from his sibling, Sekeleni has been hailed by many as a hero for spilling the beans on Nandipha and Bester.
In 2021, Sekeleni outed the two in a Facebook post, which only got traction a year later after it was confirmed that Bester did not die in Cell 35 at the Mangaung Correctional Centre and that he is on the run with Magudumana.
Regarding the documentary, in an affidavit, Sekeleni said Idea Candy approached him around April 2023. This happened when his sister and Bester were arrested in Arusha, Tanzania. They were deported to South Africa the same month.
“It is thus clear from clause four of the agreement that I was paid R30 000. This amount was in exchange for the exclusive rights I granted Idea Candy to conduct, record, and broadcast the documentary, not for commercial gain or any manner,” Sekeleni said in the affidavit.
NATHI SEKELENI SPILLS THE TEA
The freelance photographer said he observed several red flags in his encounters with Bester, whom Nandipha had introduced as a New York-based businessman who had invested in her property investment company, Arum Holdings.
Sekeleni said Bester often contacted Magudumana via video calls; however, he was always against a wall or lying in bed.
“New York City is a loud city, but there is always someone shouting in the background in our local vernac,” he said.
Sekeleni said he made it his mission to find out who TK Nkwana was. After researching, he found out that Bester was not in New York and was instead serving a life sentence in Bloemfontein. He later confronted him. However, the Facebook Rapist arrogantly told Sekeleni that no one would believe him if he were to blow the whistle as he (Bester) had his tracks covered.
Nathi later blew the whistle on the two and furnished GroundUp with his information.
