Festive Lights Switch-On: Who will be perfoming?

Cape Town’s Festive Lights Switch-On will take place this weekend and the likes of Cassper Nyovest and Focalistic are set to perform.

The City of Cape Town’s Festive Lights Switch-On is scheduled to kick off this Sunday, 26 November 2023 on the Grand Parade.

According to the City, this will be the 54th installment of the fabulous, free event, which is a highlight on the City’s event calendar and attracts thousands of people of all ages from across the entire metropole, including a growing number of foreign visitors.

“It’s been a long year for many, and the winter cold and rains have added another dimension to the challenges that many of us face.  I, for one, am looking forward to the official start of summer, which is heralded by the switch-on of our festive lights.” Cape Town Mayor, Geordin Hill-Lewis said.

MUSICAL LINE-UP FOR FESTIVE LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

As per a statement from the City of Cape Town, festival-goers can look forward to some top talent at this years’ Switch-On.

This will include:

  • Award-winning artist, Cassper Nyovest,
  • Amapiano frontrunner, Focalistic,
  • Matthew Mole,
  • The Ikamva Marimba Band,
  • Alistair Izobell,
  • Whitney April,
  • Yonwaba Qetswana,
  • Ricky Vani Frontline,
  • Afrikaans band, RAAF,
  • The Tjommies, and
  • The Rivertones.

The event will also be guided by actress Jill Levenberg and actor Maurice Paige, along with Carl Wastie.

“The stage is set for a stellar line-up of artists who will add to the excitement and magic of the event. This year’s switch-on is going to be one for the books and I look forward to seeing locals and visitors come and celebrate the start of the festive season with us,” the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith said.
