Captured in Africa Foundation (CIAF) founder, Drew Abrahamson, has issued an urgent appeal for a young lion on the loose in Limpopo to be sent to a safe reserve.
Late Sunday night, Drew said: “A young male Lion has left the safety of a reserve in Limpopo close to Phalaborwa. Apparently from Letaba Ranch, he has made his way onto community property near Gravelotte which does not bode well for him at all.
“When I received the news yesterday we had a window of about 2 weeks, today we have a window period of a few hours before they locate to shoot!”
Drew is asking the public to please email Limpopo Nature Conservation and appeal for them to allow CIAF and other conservationists to locate a safe reserve for this Lion to go to.
“In the mean time the male will not be able to stay on community land so the search for a predator boma is under way!! We are in touch with various professional people in industry,” she said.
“PLEASE remember that in the e-mail appeal or whichever other form of communication you choose to use to make contact… ALWAYS be respectful in your manner in dealing with issues such as this!! We need this to be spread far & wide…”
