Table Mountain: Hiker rescued in dramatic midnight operation
A daring late-night rescue mission by the Wilderness Search and Rescue team was carried out after a woman fell while hiking on Table Mountain.
A Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) team carried out a daring late-night rescue mission after a woman fell while hiking on Table Mountain on Monday, 19 February.

According to the WSAR’s Facebook page, the unnamed 37-year-old woman fell above the Africa Crag route.
Thankfully, she was saved by her safety rope.
However, she was immobilised where she landed as a result of injuries sustained to her leg.

A WSAR technical team reached the top of Table Mountain via the cableway, where they managed to secure the woman using rescue ropes.
Shortly before midnight, she was brought to safety and taken to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
