The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Cradock in the Eastern Cape has issued an appeal to the community for help in finding eight-year-old child Tazne van Wyk who went missing on 7 February 2020 from a tuck shop opposite her home in Ravensmead, Cape Town, in the Western Cape.
Cradock police confirmed that the alleged suspect was arrested in the Cradock Police Precinct yesterday evening, Monday 17 Feb, at about 22h15.
In a statement from SAPS, they said the arrested man “can apparently be linked to the disappearance of the minor child”.
The suspect is 54-years-old, and will appear in the Cradock Magistrate court “soon”.

The missing girl, Tazne, has sadly not been found yet. Police are hoping that someone who saw something will come forward after seeing this message.
Meanwhile another 8-year-old girl – Lira Dladla – was reported missing from Gauteng on Saturday by her mother. According to her mom, she went missing on Valentine’s Day whilst playing with other children at Phomolong Section in Tembisa.

And in the Eastern Cape, police said on Tuesday afternoon that a search is continuing for 22-month-old toddler Avela Mavavana who went missing on 9 February. She had been with two other toddlers when she disappeared.
