Detectives from Temba South African Police Service (SAPS) have made a breakthrough in the murder of a 23-year old woman by securing the arrest of a suspect – her ex-boyfriend.
The woman was tragically murdered on 10 September 2020 in Temba in Tshwane. Gauteng Commissioner of police, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela says he welcomes the arrest of yet another suspect of gender based violence (GBV); and commended the investigating team that went all out as the SAPS continues to prioritise the investigation of crimes against women, children and vulnerable persons.
SAPS said that at about 19h00 on Thursday, the suspect allegedly fatally stabbed his ex girlfriend with a knife in an alleged rage of jealousy. The investigation led the team to the suspect’s hideout in Leboneng where the 30-year old suspect was arrested on Friday afternoon, 11 September 2020,
The suspect will appear before the Temba Magistrate court on Monday 14 September 2020.
