Concerned South African citizen Hannes van den Heever has filmed a video to show South Africa just how dire the drought situation is in the Namakwaland (Namaqualand) and Boesmanland district.
Hannes, who is an Afrikaans country artist, says: “My family members and friends are farmers in the Namakwaland and Boesmanland district. I was on my way to visit them for the day, and decided to post this video so people can see what the realities are.
“I also live in Aggeneys (Namakwaland) and was born in this region. I love nature, music and people… and would like to help and support wherever I can, and I felt that this might help South Africa to get a better idea of nature here in my area.”
Watch Plea for Help or Prayer for Namakwaland / Boesmanland
In the video Hannes says there is nothing going on in this district. Nothing growing. There has been no rain for so long. Things are not good, he says. The farmers are doing all they can to keep their animals alive, and keep us having food on our plate at dinner. They need our help. All of them. The animals and the farmers. Hannes asks if you can, please donate, and if you’re not in a financial position to help – please pray.
