With a high chance of rainfall in Cape Town today, volunteers helping in the search for a local woman – who has been missing since Saturday early evening – are asked to please think twice about participating today.
Popular Claremont clinical psychologist Diane Nelson was last seen on Saturday 23 June 2018 at around 7pm. Her car was recovered at Cecelia Forest. Volunteers have been helping in the intensive search for the 49-year-old.
Nana Rechner from The Pink Ladies organisation, says: “If anyone joins in search parties please be sure you are fit and healthy enough to cope or we could be looking for more people.
“I stand corrected but… weather is predicted as 62% rain. Perhaps not a good idea to join in, and leave it to the authorities and professionals who are trained for search and rescue.
“We thank the Public for all their efforts so far. Check with the investigation officer first. Have a good rest.”
Pink Ladies have requested that people keep sharing Diane’s missing poster, in the hope her picture triggers someone’s memory – particularly hikers – who may remember seeing her.
“Someone must have seen her,” say Pink Ladies.
Diane has short blonde hair, and was wearing a dark top and grey pants.
Messages of support have flooded in from friends and patients who say Diane has been their “lifeline” through tough times.
