Thousands of South Africans on Facebook got caught on Monday by a hoax message warning of an imminent hacking attack by a person called Jayden K. Smith, and urging users to send the message to all their contacts.
The message read:
Please tell all the contacts in your messenger list not to accept Jayden K. Smith friendship request. He is a hacker and has the system connected to your Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received.
Hold your finger down on the message. At the bottom in the middle it will say forward. Hit that then click on the names of those in your list and it will send to them Facebook account. If one of your contacts accepts it, you will also be hacked, so make sure that all your friends know it. Thanks. Forwarded as received.

The message is fake. Please ignore it and do not pass it on.
It would not be possible for your account to be hacked just because a friend accepts a friend request.
These messages do the rounds often, usually just changing the name of the supposed hacker.
Of course it’s seldom a good idea to accept a friend request from a stranger, and remember you can unfriend or unblock somebody whenever you want.
