A beach jogger who was mauled by two pit bulls on Tinley Manor Beach on Monday morning is still in hospital in a serious condition, according to local media reports.
The dog attack was first tweeted by IPSS Medical Rescue just after 08h30am Monday.
It appears the 33-year-old man was jogging when the dogs attacked him.
According to reports, an IPSS paramedic Janus van Schalkwyk, said: “The victim tried to fight off the dogs and when the owner saw what was happening, he rushed to the man’s aid.”
Unfortunately “the jogger suffered significant soft-tissue damage to his biceps and his left leg”.
He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he is “in very bad condition”, according to his sister.
