Goosebumps: WATCH Brilliant Tuks Medical Grad Being Celebrated in South Africa

Watch the video below to be totally inspired! It was uploaded on Thursday by Jeff Govender, a doctor, who wrote: “Super brilliant medical graduate – Dr Aliya Mukadam!! ??? She should be celebrated!!” And since then congratulations have poured in from South Africans around the country.

The footage shows Dr Mukadam being celebrated at the University of Pretoria (TUKS) Medical School where her own mother is the Head of Department of Radiology. Her proud mom was invited to introduce her, but she turned down the opportunity knowing that she “would break down in tears and not be able to get through it”.

It’s impossible to watch through to the end without shedding the odd tear, as her endless list of distinctions and other achievements are read out.

Family friend Zakiyyah Essat said on Facebook: “Our Aliya made it on Facebook after all lol super proud of her. A young woman who was dedicated, hard working and has a heart of gold. We need more future Doctors like her. Alhamdurillah we are blessed to have her and her beautiful smile which lights up a room. Dr Aliyah Mukadam, daughter of Dr Ashraf and Dr Zarina Mukadam…”

Aliya’s sister Sabeeh said to all those writing on the post: “Immensely proud of my sister ❤️ Thank you all for the wishes! She appreciates it so much.”
