Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly bought the rights to ‘Meet Me At The Lake’ – a novel mirroring their lives.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly bought the rights to Meet Me At The Lake – a novel that mirrors their lives.

PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN BUY RIGHTS TO ‘MEET ME AT THE LAKE’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have bought the rights to romantic new release Meet Me At The Lake by Carley Fortune according to The Sun. The pair reportedly intend on turning the book into a film.

The novel, which is set in Canada spent six weeks in the New York Times Best Sellers List. Meet Me At The Lake follows the story of a 30-something woman whose mother dies in a car crash and her love story. – resembling Prince Harry’s life. Harry’s mom Princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997.

According to Deadline, the novel touches on “childhood trauma, including losing a parent in a car crash, mental health challenges and post-natal depression.”

The deal is with Penguin Random House which allegedly cost nearly $4 million (R74 million).

PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN PART WAYS WITH SPOTIFY

This comes after The Wall Street Journal reported that Prince Harry and Meghan ended their podcasting deal with Spotify. There will not be a second season of the pair’s podcast Archetypes despite launching at the top of charts, a source confirmed to The New York Post. Meghan hosted Archetypes with a series of different guests including Mariah Carey, Mindy Kaling and Serena Williams.

The podcast was created to “investigate, dissect and subvert the labels that try to hold women back.”

A source told the publication that the couple did not produce enough content for a multi-million dollar payout. It seems the decision was mutual as Spotify and Archewell Audio said they have “mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together,” in a joint statement.

However, the Duke and Duchess seemingly have a better offer with another platform.

“Meghan is continuing to develop more content for the Archetypes audience on another platform,” said a source to the Wall Street Journal.
