South Africans are known for their twisted sense of humour – but an “after tears” gig in memory of the Titanic sub victims has got to take the cake!
In a viral image, Daveyton club DKNY Lounge capitalised on the tragedy with a weekend-long memorial celebration.
On Thursday morning, authorities confirmed that the US OceanGate sub had imploded, instantly killing five male passengers on board. The sub – which began its expedition of the shipwreck on Sunday morning -went missing after losing signal with authorities just two hours later.

DAVEYTON CLUB HAS ‘AFTER TEARS GIG FOR TITANIC SUB VICTIMS
In a post that has had SA social media users howling in laughter, a poster of the Daveyton club advertised its gig in memory of the sub victims.
The event takes place at DKNY Lounge from 23 -35 June. The poster features the faces of four of the five men in the submersible as well as a pic of OceanGate’s Titanic.

The image also features a Biblical verse and the tagline “Oxygen efedile makgowa” (Oxygen is depleted).
