A police officer from North West has been charged with fraud after he allegedly altered a doctor’s sick note and failed to report to work.
The 43-year-old police officer, Kagiso Motlele appeared at the Setlagole Periodical Court on Tuesday, 13 June.
POLICE OFFICER ALTER’S DOCTOR’S SICK NOTE
Jacaranda FM reported that the officer allegedly handed in a suspicious sick note to his commander in May. He was then arrested at his place of work at Madibogo police station.

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Sabata Mokgwabone said the matter was reported to the provincial Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit for investigation.
“According to information, the medical practitioner permitted him to stay home for three days to get fit for work, but he fraudulently extended the leave by a day,” the spokesperson said.

The 43-year-old is expected to appear in the Atamelang Magistrates’ Court in July 2023.
