WHERE DID FRESHLYGROUND DISAPPEAR TO?

With a career spanning years, the band headlined several international stages, with the Fifa World Cup being one of the biggest stages the band ever performed.

They are best known for their smash hit Waka Waka “This Time For Africa” with Shakira, which received worldwide recognition.

CAREER SUCCESS

The group went down in the history books as the first South African musical act to receive honours from MTV when they won the MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act at the 2006 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Over the years, the group was privileged to perform with African legends, including Miriam Makeba and late Zimbabwean Jazz icon Oliver Mtukudzi.

Freshlyground has six studio albums and has won several awards.

BAND MEMBERS GO SOLO

However, the group was dismantled, with several members pursuing their solo careers.
