Wendy Williams opens up about her issues with alcohol
Wendy Williams has opened about her struggles with alcohol and how it has affected her re;ationships with her family.
On Saturday, 24 February, Wendy Williams Lifetime documentary series, Where Is Wendy Williams? aired. The series giving audiences insight into Wendy William’s health struggles, why she stepped away from her namesake talk show and most notably details the former TV show host being placed under guardianship.

‘HE HATES LIQUOR’
In the docu-series Wendy also opens about up about her battle with alcohol abuse, specifically noting how alcohol put a massive strain on her relationship with her son, Kevin Hunter Jr.
In the first episode, Williams opened up about her relationship with alcohol, stating: “I love vodka.”
Williams also noted that her sister Wanda “hates that I love alcohol” and that her 23-year-old son, Kevin Hunter Jr. “hates liquor.”
In a candid interview in the second episode, Wendy was asked by a producer if there are any relationships she wants to repair. Wendy emotionally shared that she wants to repair the relationship she had with her son.
“My son”, the former TV show tearfully answered:
When asked about her son and what stopped her from repairing that relationship, she said: “Nothing. Except for he hates liquor.
WENDY WILLIAMS WANTS PERSONAL SPACE
Following the announcement of her dementia diagnosis Wendy Williams expressed her gratitude to all the support she has received. In an exclusive interview with media outlet Page Six, the former talk show host addressing her recent aphasia and dementia diagnoses in an emotional statement.
“I want to say I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD). Let me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming”, she told Page Six.
Wendy continued noting how everyone’s kind words and messages reminded her of the “power of unity and the need for compassion”.
“The messages shared with me have touched me, reminding me of the power of unity and the need for compassion,” Wendy shared.
“I hope that others with FTD may benefit from my story. I want to also thank the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration for their kind words of support and their extraordinary efforts to raise awareness of FTD”, she added.
The media personality continued by sharing how she “[needs] personal space and peace to thrive,” while also emphasizing that she is “deeply” grateful for fans’ “positivity and encouragement”.
