Country music legend Reba McEntire took to social media to squash rumours that she called Taylor Swift an “entitled brat” during the 2024 Super Bowl.

REBA MCENTIRE AND TAYLOR SWIFT

In a recent Instagram post, McEntire, 68, vehemently denied the allegations. She emphasised that Swift is a “wonderful artist” and a “strong role model.”

The controversy erupted when a Facebook group, America Loves Liberty, claimed that McEntire was disappointed with Swift’s. This was apparently due to her behaviour during her national anthem performance at the Super Bowl, according to the New York Post.

The group alleged that McEntire had confronted Swift after the event, branding her as an “entitled little brat.”

However, photographic evidence tells a different story.

Swift was captured standing respectfully alongside her friend Blake Lively. She had her hand over her heart, during McEntire’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Contrary to the claims, Taylor Swift appeared to be in high spirits. She cheered on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Social media users quickly defended McEntire, dismissing the allegations as baseless.

One Facebook user pointed out the spelling error in McEntire’s name, highlighting the dubious nature of the story.

FABRICATED CONTROVERSY

Others praised McEntire for her professionalism and integrity, expressing disbelief at the fabricated controversy.

In response to the backlash, America Loves Liberty attempted to downplay the situation. They labelled their post as satire.

However, McEntire’s fans weren’t buying it, with many questioning the credibility of the group’s claims.

NO BAD BLOOD

Despite the drama, McEntire has always spoken fondly of Swift. She even joked about her relationship with Kelce in a previous interview.

Far from harbouring any ill will, McEntire expressed playful jealousy over Swift’s romance, according to People. She emphasised her contentment in her relationship with Rex Linn.

As the dust settles on this alleged feud, it’s clear that there’s no bad blood between McEntire and Swift.
