OSCAR PISTORIUS EXPECTED TO RELEASE A MEMOIR
The former Olympic runner who is also known as the Blade Runner because of the speed at which he could sprint on his carbon-fibre prosthetic limbs was released on parole on Friday, 5 January from Pretoria’s Atteridgeville Correctional Centre after spending half of his 13-year and five-month culpable homicide sentence.
The 37-year-old convicted murderer was convicted for the murder of his then-girlfriend, model, and law graduate, Reeva Steenkamp. Steenkamp succumbed to her death on Valentine’s Day in 2013 after she was shot four times through a closed bathroom door with Pistorius’ licensed 9 mm pistol in their home.

While behind bars, serving his time, the disgraced Olympic star is said to have spent his years in jail writing his memoirs. “Oscar spent a lot of time writing. Some prisoners do this to show the parole board that they have accepted what they have done. There are already a lot of publishers that are interested,” a source was quoted as saying.

MORE ABOUT THE BLADE RUNNER’S PAROLE TERMS
Unfortunately, Oscar Pistorius has a few obstacles if he is adamant about publishing any memoir as some of his parole rules include not talking to the media. And, although he could benefit from a published book or film, he would still need permission from the authorities before such. If he does break the rules, he could find himself back in prison. Meanwhile, while on parole, he is currently living at his uncle’s property in the exclusive Waterkloof suburb in Pretoria — under strict rules and supervision. His parole is only expected to be completed in December 2029.
