Prince William’s alleged mistress, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, Rose Hanbury has reportedly broken her silence after rumours of her alleged affair with Prince William have resurfaced years after they first broke.

Rose Hanbury has broken her silence on rumours claiming she had an affair with the Prince of Wales, William. While rumours of the alleged affair surfaced years ago, Hanbury began trending all over again after Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton’s photo editing fiasco.

Hanbury is married to David Rocksavage, the seventh Marquess of Cholmondeley. The pair have three children together. Hanbury said that the rumours of her alleged affair are “completely false” to Business Insider via her lawyers. This came amid conspiracy theories of the Princess of Wales’ “disappearance”, which set social media into a frenzy.

WHEN DID THE RUMOURS START?

Prince William was accused of cheating on Kate Middleton with Hanbury while she was pregnant with their third child. Back in 2019, an American publication InTouch, reported that Prince William may have had an affair with Hanbury. Harper Bazaar reported that – to add fuel to the fire there were reports claiming that Kate wanted Hanbury “phased out” of the social circle soon after.

However, the reports were never confirmed.

The publication also reported that Kate allegedly confronted William and he laughed it off saying it was nothing. The rumours were reignited amid Kate’s photo editing fiasco as well as conspiracy theories that she had “disappeared”. Cosmopolitan reported that Stephen Colbert brought up the alleged affair on an episode of the The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on 12 March.

“The Kingdom has been all a flutter about the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton. Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate’s absence may be related to her husband, and the future King of England, William, having an affair,” he said.

“I think we all know who the alleged other woman is, say it with me: the Marchioness of Cholmondeley. What a beautiful name that I’m being told right now I pronounced incorrectly,” he continued.
