Born on the 14 May 1958, Prince Albert II is the son of Prince Ranier III and actress turned Princess, Grace Kelly. Prince Albert II ascended to the throne of Monaco when his father Prince Rainier III died on the 6 April 2005.   1. Prince Albert II of Monaco was born in Monte Carlo, Monoco
  2. The Prince obtained a BA degree studying political science, economics, psychology, English literature, the history of art, anthropology, geology, philosophy, sociology, German and music at Amherst College in Massachusetts, in the United States of America.
  3. He served in the French Navy. Currently a reserve Lieutenant Commander the Prince trained on board the French Navy’s helicopter-carrier “Jeanne d’Arc”, with the rank of Ship-of-the-Line Ensign (2nd class).
  4. He has a Black belt in Judo.
  5. Prince Albert II has competed in five Winter Olympics; in1988, 1992, 1994, 1998, and 2002; competing in the sport of bobsledding. He has not won any medals.
  6. His mother is legendary actress Grace Kelly. She well known for her roles in Dial M for Murder, The Country Girl and Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window.
  7. Prince Albert as four children from three different women.
  8. Prince Albert is married to South African Olympic swimming champion, Princess Charlene of Monaco née Charlene Lynette Wittstock.
  9. The Prince has created his own foundation titled, The Prince Albert Foundation. The foundation is dedicated to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development at local and global level.
  10. He has two siblings, Princess Caroline of Hanover and Princess Stephanie.
