AKA’s mother Lynn Forbes revealed her biggest achievement was surviving the year he son was brutally gunned down…
Like many who lost loved ones in 2023, AKA’s mom, Lynn Forbes, has achieved one momentous goal: surviving the year that was.
The muso – real name Kiernan Forbes – and friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were shot and killed by gunmen on 10 February outside a Durban restaurant. To date, no arrests have been made.

LYNN FORBES REFLECTS ON 2023
Since the rapper’s death ten months ago, Lynn has publicly shared her grief with his fans, known as the “Megacy.”
In a bittersweet post on Sunday, 17 December, the mother-of-two reflected on her painful year. Posting a picture of herself, she shared: “My biggest accomplishment this year is making it to December.”

2024 GOALS: TAKING ON EVEREST
Earlier this week, Lynn confirmed the news that she was climbing Mount Everest in 2024 as part of the Trek4Education charity expedition.
She shared: “I’m embarking on this journey to Everest Base Camp, not only for my own spiritual enrichment and healing but to honour my son Kiernan and preserve his legacy, of which education is an integral part”.

Five years ago, Lynn summited Africa’s highest mountain – Kilimanjaro – also for charity.
The mom-of-two previously said of her adventure: “Kilimanjaro taught me humility, patience, and gratitude. She showed me how truly small I really am”.
