King Charles to undergo surgical procedure for enlarged prostate

Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles will be undergoing corrective surgery for his enlarged prostate.

On Wednesday, 17 January Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III will be undergoing a medical procedure for an enlarged prostate.

KING CHARLES PREPARES FOR CORRECTIVE SURGERY

In a statement the palace shared that the King Will be in hospital next week for his corrective procedure.

“His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure”, the statement reads.

As a result of the King’s corrective surgery for his enlarged prostate, all his public engagements will be postponed for a short period of recuperation, the Palace said in a statement.

The palace also reiterated that King Charles’ enlarged prostate is a common diagnosis that affects “thousands of men each year”.

According to Mayo Clinic, a Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) also known as an enlarged prostate is a medical condition that often affects older men. An enlarged prostate can block the flow of urine out of the bladder causing bladder, urinary tract or kidney problems.

‘THE SURGERY WAS SUCCESSFUL’

News of King Charles’ health struggles comes hours after it was announced that Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales underwent a “planned abdominal surgery”.

As per a statement by the Princess of Wales it was noted that her surgery went well and that she would remain in hospital for 10-14 days.

“The surgery was successful, and it is expected that she will remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days, before returning home to continue her recovery”, Princess Kate’s statement read.

She also noted that she’d like her medical information to remain “private”.
