Corruption-accused businessman Edwin Sodi has reportedly separated from his influencer girlfriend, Karen Zulu.

According to Sunday World, the couple was not seeing eye-to-eye amid investigations on Sodi’s businesses and the auctioning of his assets.

EDWIN SODI ALLEGEDLY BREAKS THINGS OFF WITH GIRLFRIEND KAREN ZULU

A source told the publication that the 50-year-old entrepreneur urged Zulu not to flaunt her lifestyle on social media, but she did not listen.

“Edwin is going through the most. He asked her on a couple of occasions to stop posting on her social media accounts… This is because, as his partner, all eyes are on her as much as they are on him.

“But Karen, being the influencer or celeb that she is, continued posting their high life. Basically exposing him and defying him,” the source said.

According to the insider, Sodi took back the gifts he had bought for Zulu, including the designer bags she often flaunts on Instagram.

“The problem with Karen is that she could not read the room. Edwin is basically on a hot stove, but she still demanded things from him. And that came across as being very unsupportive,” the source added.

MANSION FOR SALE

In addition, Zulu has deleted all the images she posted of her and Sodi or inside his house. These include photographs of Sodi’s lavish 50th birthday party which was hosted at his Morningside mansion in September 2023.

The same mansion is now up for sale for an astounding R75 million.

ABOUT 100 VEHICLES COULD BE SEIZED

Sunday World reported last week that Sodi’s fleet of cars were at risk of being seized after giant insurance, Hollard Insure, applied for a court order to attach them.

According to the publication, this came after Sodi’s company, NJR Projects, allegedly failed to repay the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) over R39 million. The money was an advance payment to upgrade and build accommodation for a correctional centre in Parys, Free State.

The assets include five Bell TLBs, a BMWX3, two Chevrolet Utility vehicles, a Ford Fiesta, 41 Ford Rangers and 10 Hino trucks. In addition there are 15 Mazda CX3s, 4 Mercedes Benz vehicles, 6 Nissan NP200s, three tankers, three Toyota bakkies and eight VW vehicles.
