Chicco Twala thinks ‘nothing will be discussed’ in court
Chicco Twala claims the legal system treats him unfairly as his assault case gets delayed for the 13th time.
In the ongoing drama with music mogul and producer Sello “Chicco” Twala, he’s pretty fed up, saying the legal system treats him unfairly because of his community status. The Randburg Magistrates Court, once again, pushed back his assault case where he’s accused of attacking two City Power employees he mistook for cable thieves back in May 2022.
Twala, who’s out on R2,000 bail, has seen this case postponed 13 times, and the latest delay means his court date is now on February 13. His lawyer, Lesley Sedibe, is pushing to throw the case out, pointing to the missing state witness and the unconfirmed eye infection story.

CHICCO TWALA THINKS THE LEGAL SYSTEM IS UNFAIR TO HIM
Twala’s not holding back, claiming there’s no case against him and suggesting that the whole thing is dragging because he’s Chicco Twala.
“This case is dragging because it’s Chicco Twala who is the accused and I must feel that they are working and they are not. There is a guy who was arrested not so long time ago and his case was struck off the roll in front of me. I’m happy that my lawyer, has once again asked for the magistrate to strike this case off the roll because there is no case here,” he said in a chat with ZiMoja.

HE’S NOT OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE NEXT COURT APPEARANCE
He’s not thrilled about shelling out money every time he goes to court as he has to pay a lawyer every time he appears in court. He went on to predict that the next appearance will just be about getting the case dismissed. “The next appearance is next month and I know nothing will be discussed except to strike this case off the roll,” he said to ZiMoja.

Meanwhile, according to a source from ZiMoja, there’s chatter that this prolonged legal battle might mess with Twala’s gigs on telenovelas. Shows like Sibongile & The Dlaminis and My Brother’s Keeper on Mzansi Wethu and Mzansi Magic, where he’s worked on the soundtracks, could take a hit.
