JENNIFER LOPEZ REACTS TO AYO EDEBIRI’S COMMENTS
In an interview with Variety magazine, Jennifer Lopez revealed that Ayo was mortified when her comments of Jennifer went viral. The singer also noted that Ayo Edebiri profusely apologized to her, “with tears in her eyes” before going live on the show.
“She came to my dressing room and apologized with tears in her eyes, saying how terrible it was that she had said those things”, Jennifer recalled.
Lopez continued: “She felt really badly and loved my performance because we had just done my soundcheck and she actually got to hear me perform”.
“She was just like, ‘I’m so f–king sorry, it was so awful of me.’”, she added.
The two-time Grammy nominee also note that she was not phased by Ayo’s comments, mainly because she has heard similar comments through her whole career.
“It’s funny. I’ve heard similar things said about me throughout my career, so it really didn’t affect me”.
‘ONE LONG SCAM’
During a 2020 Interview on the Scam Goddess podcast, Ayo shared some controversial takes about Jennifer Lopez’s career, specifically noting that Jennifer’s career was “one long scam”.
In the resurfaced viral clip Edebiri is heard taking jabs at Jennifer Lopez and commenting on the singer’s career.
“She thinks she’s on multiple tracks, but it’s not her. I think she thinks that she’s still good even though she’s not singing for most of these songs”, the Emmy winning actress shared.
Edebiri, went on to note that she became “fascinated” with the “On the Floor” hitmaker’s career and “read up on” conspiracy theories that she did not sing on all of her songs.
“A lot of the write-ups of the songs will be like, ‘J.Lo didn’t have time to make it to the studio’, like, ‘J.Lo was busy.’ Doing what? Not singing, obviously”, she shared.
