Over the past couple of months, fans and royal commentators have been trying to figure out Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s next plan of action. Now that they have launched their new website, sussex.com, many feel they are indeed splitting ways professionally. Here are a few signs indicating the split, as per The Sun.
SIGNS HARRY AND MEGHAN ARE SCALING DOWN THEIR JOINT VENTURES
Since stepping down as senior members of the royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have secured various lucrative deals to help their personal financial situation. Right from the start of their relationship, the couple made it clear that they were in this together, even packing up their lives, moving to the US, and releasing a documentary on Netflix.
According to News.com.au, there are mumblings that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might be splitting up professionally and are instead focusing on establishing separate projects.
“At some point in the last year, the couple seems to have built a sort of professional Berlin Wall down the middle of their working lives,” Daniela Elser wrote in the publication.
Here’s a look at some of Harry and Meghan’s solo projects, which some believe might indicate their decision to pursue separate professional careers.
A NEW PODCAST
Since Harry and Meghan’s combined deal of £ 18 million (estimated at R375.9 million) with Spotify ended, Meghan is releasing a new podcast with Lemonada Media, People reports.
“I’m proud to now be able to share that I am joining the brilliant team at Lemonada to continue my love of podcasting. Being able to support a female founded company with a roster of thought provoking and highly entertaining podcasts is a fantastic way to kick off 2024,” Meghan said in a statement. This is according to Variety.
HARRY’S SOLO ‘GOOD MORNING AMERICA’ PODCAST
Last week Prince Harry gave a solo interview on Good Morning America, one year ahead of the 2025 Invictus Games, The Mirror reports.
According to DailyMail, the Prince opened up about his family life and his visit to King Charles after his recent cancer diagnosis, but Meghan Markle was noticeably absent.
THE DUKE’S MEMOIR, ‘SPARE‘
Harry’s bombshell memoir, Spare, was released in 2023. In it, he made some shocking revelations about members of the royal family. The book was released hot on the heels of the couple’s Netflix docuseries.
