Comic Con and City of Cape Town team up
The City of Cape Town has announced that they will be partnering up with Comic Con Cape Town for the next three years.
COMIC CON CAPE TOWN GETS A PARTNER FOR NEXT THREE YEARS
The City of Cape Town will be teaming up with Comic Con Cape Town for the next three years, after the City’s Council granted approval for the Events department to enter into an agreement with Comic Con.

According to the City, this agreement will see the them supporting Comic Con Cape Town for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 editions of the event.
The agreement will kick off this year, with the 2024 Cape Town edition scheduled to take place over the Freedom Day week, from 27 April to 1 May at the CTICC 2.

EXTRA DAY ADDED
It was also revealed that Comic Con Cape Town will add a fifth day to accommodate more fans this year. Last year, the popular event drew in 27 484 attendees who collectively spent over R24 million in Cape Town.

“The event exceeded all expectations and received the full buy-in of local, national and international audiences in 2023. As the City, we believe it will keep on building from here and our support will go a long way in ensuring that Comic Con Cape Town remains a go-to event for people of all age groups. Additionally, it has been encouraging to see the immediate impact the event has had on the economy and the expectation is that this trend will continue for years to come,” the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith said in a statement.
