South Africans in the UK can meet prominent businessman and DA 2016 mayoral candidate for Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba, this Friday in London.
When the former head of the Free Market Foundation announced his Joburg mayoral candidacy last month several expats in the UK asked “is he any good, is it worth coming back to SA to vote for him”.
They can now find out for themselves at the intimate event in London where he will share his vision to make Johannesburg Africa’s leading business and cultural city.
The entrepreneur and family man, who founded the famous company ‘Black Like Me’, has inspired many with his rags to riches tale – he was born in near-poverty in GaRamotse in Hammanskraal, and raised by his sisters while his absent domestic-worker mother worked long hours. Herman sees his life’s purpose to help others find a ladder out of poverty.
Entrance to this event is free, but RSVP is essential.
Organiser Francine Higham says: “Tickets are limited so please reserve yours as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We will be heading to a nearby pub for drinks and networking after the event.”
