While many South Africans might not know about it, the national hotline connects anyone directly to the Presidential Office. All reasonable complaints and service delivery issues must receive attention through this channel – and it can be used as a last resort when citizens feel that other methods have failed them.
Here’s more about the national hotline, and why citizens of South Africa are encouraged to get in touch with who runs the country.

The President’s hotline has existed for several years, but many citizens don’t know about this direct way to contact the ones who are in charge of running the country.
Anyone can call the hotline with complaints, thoughts, or compliments about South Africa.

If you have complained about service delivery before and haven’t received a response or resolution, the next step could be to inform the president.
Complaints to the national hotline have to receive a reference number, which can be quoted in future references to the matter.

WHY CALL THE PRESIDENT?
According to the South African government, you should call the hotline because it ‘deals with complaints about unresolved service delivery issues’.
If you have had issues with any government department that you feel weren’t adequately addressed (or handled at all), contact the national hotline for a better chance at resolution.
