Following on from our story on Disky, the company that allows you to renew vehicle license with WhatsApp, we dug a little dipper to find other WhatsApp services for license renewal in SA.

The Disky offering is pretty straightforward. It’s for personal vehicles and business-registered ones. All you need to do is follow the link and start chatting to Disky via WhatsApp.

  • Hit the button for the Disky WhatsApp chatbot.
  • Choose Instant Quote from the menu.
  • Follow the prompts and provide all the details required about your car.
  • Upload documents from your smartphone by taking photos.
  • Make payment and you’re A for away.
  • Payment methods include all debit and credit cards, as well as Zapper and OZOW.
  • You license disc will be delivered within 5 to 7 working days to your door.

Now that we know how easy it can be to renew vehicle licenses with WhatsApp, which other companies offer this service?

1. CHATBACK.CO.ZA

Go to their website and scan the QR code, or WhatsApp ‘Renew’ to +27 66 202 6685. You can also SMS ‘Renew’ to 44155. This service has been operational for some time now. The application takes two minutes and you can have your vehicle license within 5 to 7 workings days.

2. SUPA QUICK

If you’ve visited a Supa Quick in-store lately, you’ll probably have seen the QR codes to renew vehicle licenses with WhatsApp. This happens to also be through the same Disky service mentioned earlier. So, the process is exactly the same as above.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Well, according to MyBroadBand, ChatBack isn’t cheap. There is a R300 service fee and R110 license disc delivery fee (location dependent), so the convenicene of WhatsApp will cost you R410 in total. That’s more than double some of the conventional online license renewal services. Disky, on the other hand, only asks for an administration fee of R169.
