The SASSA SRD grant was introduced to assist the very destitute in South Africa during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, anyone already receiving a social grant in any other form is not eligible for the R350 stipend.

If there were any errors such as misspelt names, surnames in your application, this can lead to verification issues. Go back to your application and ensure your ID number, name, and surname exactly match your ID document.

The South African Social Security Agency is only mandated to supply SRD grants to individuals aged between 18 and 60.
