The nominees for this year’s Global Music Award Africa 3rd edition have been announced, featuring a multitude of South African artists such as Hle, Mellow and Sleazy, Blaq Diamond, and DJ Zinhle, among others.
THE GLOBAL MUSIC AWARD NOMINATIONS
The awards showcase artists who have made a significant impact in their respective genres, earning them nominations in various categories. Entries for this year’s event were received from over 15 African countries, with Nigeria leading in nominations, followed by South Africa, Ghana, and Tanzania, among others.
The Global Artiste of the Year category, known as the Ultimate Title, features ten nominees competing for the top spot. Artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Asake, Black Sherif, Diamond Platnumz, Msaki, Kizz Daniel, Zuchu, Rema, and Tems are all vying for the prestigious title.

Other categories include Best Gospel Act, Digital Artiste, Video Director of the Year, Group or Duo, Best Producer, Best Male, Best Female, DJ of the Year, Reggae/Dancehall, Best New African Artist, Best Hip-Hop, Best Afro Pop, Best Collaboration, Listener’s Choice, and Video of the Year.
The awards ceremony will be held in South Africa, marking a change in location from previous editions in Ghana and Nigeria. The choice of South Africa is attributed to its unique culture, tourism offerings, and the country’s musical landscape that reflects its true identity.

The Global Music Award Africa recognises outstanding talent across the African continent and promotes the diverse musical expressions found within different countries. The event aims to celebrate and honour artists who have made significant contributions to the African music industry.
