Life after Itumeleng Khune will be weird for Kaizer Chiefs fans, but reality is like that and the club needs to make plans. So, who are some of the candidates to replace the legendary keeper when he hangs up his gloves?
The first option, of course, is to keep faith with the current incumbent Brandon Petersen. However, with Bruce Bvuma on his way out Petersen needs competition for his place, and Chiefs might even sign a player intended for the number 1 role.
Another is Richards Bay stopper Salim Magoola who has been strongly linked. He is a full Ugandan international and still only 27. Bay have conceded 24 goals this season, which is the fifth best record in the division, and that’s also counting the collapse in results during the second half of the campaign. Magoola has made 24 PSL appearances this term and kept 11 shutouts.

TS GALAXY STOPPER HAS IMPRESSED
And what about TS Galaxy man Melusi Buthelezi? Granted, he’s currently injured, but he’s been a key cog in their excellent defensive record which is second only to Sundowns. Buthelezi’s got nine clean sheets in 17 appearances, which is an outstanding ratio. At 25, he’s a younger option for head coach Arthur Zwane.
Chiefs fans, which of these three options would you like the club to pursue, if any? Hit us up in the comments. It’s going to be a busy couple of months at Naturena, as ever.
