3rd March 2012– A Taste of S♥wet♥
Have you always been interested in Soweto but have not had a chance to explore yet? Would you like to explore it like a local? Then why not join us for a day out in Soweto, full of new experiences, friendly people and interesting sights?
We will meet in Newtown (in Joburg) and take a walk to the Rea Vaya bus system. Here we will board the bus and travel to Soweto. First up is a visit to Vilakazi Street and a tour of Mandela House.
We then board the Rea Vaya again and travel to Thokoza Park. Here we will take a look at Regina Mundi Church’s unbeatable photography collection. We will then provide you with a picnic in the park where you can play soccer with the locals or explore and take some photographs. If anyone would like to lay back, chill and enjoy a beer their is a bottle store within walking distance. After a relaxing but fun day we will board the bus again and head back to Jozi!
Time: 9h00 for 9h30 until about 14h30 (times are estimates as we are using public transport)
Price: R270-00 per person (this includes tour, public transport, entrance fees and a picnic lunch)
Picnic includes: A Portuguese roll filled with either cheese/salad or chicken mayonnaise, crisps, a muffin, fruit and a juice
Meeting Point and Parking: Outside Sci-Bono on Miriam Makeba Street, Newtown (across from the SAB World of Beer)
