South Africa can expect a variety of weather conditions on Thursday’s Workers’ Day public holiday.

South Africans celebrated Freedom Day on Monday and now gear up for another break this Thursday as Workers’ Day approaches.
According to the trusted WindGuru forecast, several major cities across the country can expect a fair amount of rain on the public holiday.
Johannesburg will experience a warm day with temperatures reaching a high of 23°C. Clouds will cover much of the sky, and light showers are likely in the late afternoon and evening.
Down the coast, Durban is in for a typically hot and humid day. Heavy cloud cover and early morning showers will start the day, with peak temperatures staying in the low 20s. The evening may bring heavier, possibly torrential downpours.
Other public holiday weather to expect in SA
Continuing down the coast to Gqeberha, Thursday looks set to be a mild and pleasant day, with a high of 19°C, and mostly clear skies. However, the Windy City will be living up to its name with indications for strong winds – particularly in the afternoon – when the wind gusts could reach up to 32 knots.
Heading down to the Mother City, it’s predicted to be a chilly public holiday for Cape Town on Thursday as temperatures are only expected to hit a ‘high’ of 15°C.
There could also be some light rain in the morning, with some low level cloud cover and light winds predicted for most of the day.
