‘Big Brother Mzansi’: Evicted Ash-Ley receives over R150k in fan donations
Ash-Ley Ogle has enjoyed a massive amount of support following her eviction from ‘Big Brother Mzansi’.

Ash-Ley Ogle may have left her Big Brother Mzansi days behind her, but she has clearly earned herself an immensely supportive fan base.
The 26-year-old has received an outpouring of support from fans who donated to a fund-raiser set up by the reality TV personality.
Ash-Ley showered with support in GoFundMe campaign
The Big Brother season 5 contestant set up a GoFundMe campaign in a bid to help her get back on her feet after her eviction.
Ash-Ley, who prides herself on staying true to her character during the show, was eliminated not through fan voting but by a vote from her peers.
“Unfortunately, her stay was cut short not from the usual process of elimination by fans but from votes from her peers in the house. This cut short her experience and people who support her all over the world would like to pool in resources to help her build her life back up.” Ash-Ley’s GoFundMe statement explained.
To date, the campaign has seen immense support with over R150 000 donated since its creation. Thus far, the largest single donation (from an anonymous donor) amounts to around R11 000.
With 282 donations so far, the campaign is still a long way from its R900 000 target.
Surprise eviction ends ‘Big Brother’ appearance
Ash-Ley’s chance to win the R2 million prize on Big Brother was ended by a sudden eviction.
Contestants were instructed to vote for who they wanted to see evicted. Ultimately, Ash-Ley tied with fellow contestant Nsuku, receiving four votes each. The tie was broken by Head of House Swiss, who had opted for Ash-Ley to leave.
Life after Big Brother exodus
Reflecting on her Big Brother experience, Ogle shared with IOL,
“It kept on surprising me from the time I submitted my audition video up until the day I left the house. It was full of surprises because, at first, I didn’t think I was going to get in. I didn’t even think my audition video was good enough,” she shared.
Plans for the future excite the reality TV star, who revealed she wants to pursue acting, scriptwriting and fashion.
Additionally, Ash-Ley will make her first public appearance after Big Brother. She will join The Love Tour which will take place at the Playhouse in Durban on 1 March.
