Australia welcomes more and more South Africans
According to recent info from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, approximately 214 790 South Africans are living in Australia.
And that figure only seems to be growing, with BusinessTech reporting that there are actually five cities in Australia which South Africans are flocking to.
Jamie-Lee Le Roux, Australian Migration Manager at Sable International, revealed to BusinessTech that he had observed a notable increase in inquiries and applications from South Africans looking to relocate to the nation.
Five favourite spots SA expats are heading to
Le Roux also pointed out that this relocation trend was driven by a number of combined factors, including safety, better opportunities for children, as well as a more stable economy.
Another reason for South Africans wanting to live in Australia is the already well-established expat community, with five particular cities offering the best in this regard. These were:
Melbourne
Sydney
Brisbane
Perth
Gold Coast
These five cities also offer dynamic job markets, as well as a lifestyle and climate similar to that of South Africa.
A deeper look into the favourite cities also revealed the most popular suburbs for SA expats, which included St Ives in Sydney, Baldivis near Perth, and Point Cook in Melbourne.
These suburbs are well-known for their family-friendly environments, quality schools, healthcare facilities, and recreational spaces.
