Uber Moto, the budget-friendly option, launches in Johannesburg
Uber Moto is the ‘affordable’ motorbike riding service that has just launched in Johannesburg. Will you give it a try?
Uber recently introduced its Uber Moto ride service in South Africa, according to a statement released earlier this month.
The service is currently available in parts of Johannesburg. Uber Moto has been described as “affordable” and time-saving. Find out more on this new riding service.
UBER MOTO LAUNCHED IN JOHANNESBURG
According to the statement, Uber Moto is currently only available on the western part of Johannesburg. The cost of the trips start at R18.
“Please note, that for now, Uber Moto trips are only available in the Western Suburbs of the Johannesburg CBD.”
Those who want to try out the riding service can enjoy a 35% discount for three trips. It’s limited to the first 50 000 people and the promotion ends 31 March 2025.

Uber listed some of the benefits of using this riding service. They include time saving, affordability and safety features. They further explained why their customers should try it out.

“Head to that last minute meeting or run an important errand – for even less. With trips starting from R18, Uber Moto is your affordable way to move around Johannesburg West.
“Use Uber’s in-app safety features to ride with more peace of mind. From screening processes to in-app emergency assistance, you can feel more confident when riding with Uber. In addition, all Moto drivers will have a helmet for you – for added peace of mind.”
