EFF leader Julius Malema has delivered a sharp warning to his former deputy, Floyd Shivambu. During a statement on Monday, Malema hinted that he could disclose certain information if pushed.

This comes after Shivambu made a shock exit and left the EFF to join Jacob Zuma’s MK Party. Malema has since blamed Shivambu for the EFF’s poor performance in KZN at the elections in May.

Malema’s Strong Message

“I never initiated a fight with anyone,” Malema emphasised. He accused Shivambu of conspiring against him, stating, “They sat down and said, ‘We have to drop him, we have to finish him off.’”

He described their past relationship as one of brotherhood, adding, “I regarded him as my brother. If he doesn’t feel the same, it’s his problem. I did everything for him.” he warned, “If I’m challenged and pushed, I will talk. Don’t push me,” Timeslive reported.

Malema and Shivambu’s Strained Relationship

Malema and Shivambu shared a long history, dating back to their time in the ANC Youth League. Their bond began to unravel when Shivambu allegedly failed to inform Malema about his resignation from the EFF. This omission marked a significant turning point.

Shivambu recently discussed their relationship on a podcast. He remarked, “Sometimes this so-called brotherhood is not real brotherhood. It borders on gangster relationships where we can’t call each other to order, even if one is wrong.”

Emotional Connections Remain

Despite the apparent fallout, Malema spoke about the depth of their personal ties. He revealed that he had instructed his children to contact “Uncle Floyd” in the event of his death. “I told my son, ‘If I die, you must contact Uncle Floyd so you and your mother can work together on the funeral program,’” Malema shared.

Reflecting on Shivambu’s departure, Malema likened the pain to losing his mother. “When the party announced Shivambu’s exit, I felt the same pain as when my mother passed away,” he said.

Allegations and EFF’s Future Plans

During an EFF podcast, Malema accused Shivambu of chasing a school principal with a knife during his youth. These allegations underscore the depth of the tension between the two former allies.

The EFF will address Shivambu’s vacancy at their upcoming elective conference. New leaders will be chosen, signaling a potential shift in the party’s dynamics.

Malema’s Future in Focus

With the EFF’s leadership election approaching, all eyes are on Malema. His strong words signal that more revelations could follow if tensions continue to escalate. The future of the EFF and its internal relationships remain uncertain, with Malema at the center of the storm.

In the unfolding drama, Malema’s stance is clear: he will not back down without a fight. His warning to Shivambu sets the stage for an intense political showdown in the months ahead.
