Chidimma responds to ‘Temu crown’ claim, declaring herself the ‘Queen of Africa’

Miss Universe runner-up Chidimma Adetshina has addressed allegations of having “bad blood” with South Africa and hit back at a social media user who made a joke about her “Temu crown.”
The 23-year-old received a hero’s welcome in Nigeria on Tuesday, 19 November, after participating in the pageant over the weekend.
Chidimma – born in South Africa to a Nigerian father and Mozambican mother – also received the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
CHIDIMMA HAS ‘NO BAD BLOOD’ WITH SOUTH AFRICA
Speaking in a press conference in Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina was asked about her new role as Miss Universe runner-up and Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.
The model and her mother are facing criminal charges relating to identity theft and fraud in South Africa. They have both had their identity documents and passports revoked by the Department of Home Affairs.
When asked if she had “bad blood” with South Africa, Chidimma responded: “After winning, I put that behind me. I am a representation of not only Nigeria, but Africa, and that includes South Africa as well. There is no bad blood, and I am just grateful for this opportunity.
She added: “I hope that someday we will come together and get rid of this hate…me being crowned Miss Africa is actually for a reason”.
SERVING CLAPBACKS ON TIKTOK
Meanwhile, Chidimma Adetshina has continued to serve clapbacks to her critics on TikTok.
When one TikToker mocked her for being “Miss Almost with a Temu crown”, she responded: “Where is your country? So I can come show you personally as queen of Africa”
The quip relates to scores of social media users who reposted images of a replica of the crown she was given as Miss Universe Nigeria, off the Chinese fast-fashion site Temu.
According to reports, Chidimma’s Miss Universe runner-up crown is actually valued at $3m and is encrusted with diamonds.
