Woolworths halts Dash deliveries in Hout Bay due to security issues
Woolworths has allegedly paused Dash deliveries to the Hout Bay area due to safety concerns affecting their drivers.
The retailer has confirmed that the situation will be monitored and that it hopes to be able to resume deliveries in the near future.
Hotspot for crime
Hout Bay has been an escalating hotspot for crime as the Hangberg suburb and Imizamo Yethu informal settlement continue to spread.
Sporting events like the Cape Town Cycle Tour and Two Oceans Marathon have been affected in the past.
Meanwhile, Checkers Sixty60 has allegedly also suspended delivery in the seaside suburb for the time being.
An Uber driver in the area also recently shared his concerns on Facebook, stating that driving in the area has resulted in him ending up in uncomfortable situations.
