Pay more for Takealot delivery

South African online shoppers will now have to fork out a little more for their Takealot deliveries, as the online store recently increased delivery fees, along with the minimum spend on orders to qualify for free delivery in South Africa.

As reported by BusinessTech, standard delivery charge for non-qualifying orders has increased from R70 to R75.

Customers must now also spend at least R650 to qualify for free delivery, increased from the previous R500.

Same-day delivery will cost R95, while next-day delivery is R90 for orders below R650 and R75 for orders above R650.

TakealotMORE also launched

Takealot shoppers will now also have the option to essentially subscribe for delivery service, with the launch of the online store’s TakealotMORE – similar to the Checkers Xtra Savings Plus monthly subscription.

The monthy subscription service offers two packages: a R39 per month standard subscription and a R99 per month premium service.

Both tiers allow shoppers unlimited free deliveries, but the R39 monthly subscription is limited to next-day deliveries only.

The premium package has unlimited free same-day, which is still at a R500 minimum, unlimited next-day, as well as free weekend deliveries.

The service is also available for collections and Mr D as follows:

Customers on the R99 subscription will get unlimited free standard, same-day, and next day collect.

They will also get 5 free restaurant/shop delivery per month with Mr D (R150 minimum spend), as well as free Pick n Pay grocery delivery (R350 minimum spend).

Those on the R39 subscription will get unlimited free standard and next day collect, as well as 2 free same-day collect (R500 order minimum) per month.

They will also get 1 free restaurant/shop delivery per month with Mr D (R150 minimum spend), and 1 free Pick n Pay grocery delivery (R350 minimum spend).
