MEET THE NEW CITY OF TSHWANE MMCS
On Wednesday, 9 October, the Tshwane council held a special sitting to elect a new mayor following Democratic Alliance’s Cilliers Brink’s ousting on 26 September.
Moya and Brink were the only two mayoral candidates and a 122 councillors voted for Moya while only 86 wanted Brink to be mayor.
On Sunday, Moya said the provision of quality basic services is not a matter of politics but of principle.
Moya said she will ensure that the committee is held accountable for its collective duty to service the residents of the capital city.
“Each member will be expected to perform their duties with diligence and integrity, upholding the highest ethical standards,” she said.
Here are the new MMCs:

‘A THREAT TO GOOD GOVERNANCE’
Ex-mayor and now DA caucus leader in the metro Cilliers Brink said the three seats which have been given to the EFF in mayor Nasiphi Moya’s mayoral committee are bad news for clean administration and a pro-growth agenda.
Brink said the DA warned ActionSA and the ANC that their new coalition would give the balance of power in the capital city to the EFF
“The EFF is a party of hate, violence, and chaos. Its national leadership is implicated in theft of money from VBS Bank.
“One of the new EFF members of the Mayoral Committee is Obakeng Ramabodu, notorious for violent and racist outbursts on the floor of Tshwane’s city council.” he said.
