Gauteng areas to face a 10-hour electricity disruption
Scheduled maintenance by Eskom will cause a 10-hour power outage in parts of Gauteng on 8, 9, and 10 October.
Eskom will carry out scheduled maintenance on the electricity infrastructure in Braamfischerville, Gauteng, leading to a 10-hour power outage.
The maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday, 8 October, Wednesday, 9 October and Thursday, 10 October from 8:00 – 18:00.
ESKOM PLANNED ELECTRICITY DISRUPTION IN GAUTENG
The power utility said there will be electricity supply disruption in Soweto due to maintenance that will be conducted on the distribution network.
“Eskom will be replacing rotten poles that carry the medium voltage power lines as part of its maintenance programme,” Eskom said.
The power outage will affect customers in Braamfischerville on Wednesday day, 8 October, from 8:00 – 18:00. The same maintenance will be conducted on 9, 10, 15, and 16 October on the above-mentioned times.
Eskom said the interruption of electricity is necessary to perform essential maintenance on its distribution power lines.
CUSTOMERS URGED TO TREAT ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AS LIVE
In the interest of safety, Eskom said customers should treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power outage.
“Eskom apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused by this maintenance. Should circumstances beyond the control of Eskom arise, the planned electricity maintenance may not proceed as communicated,” the power utility added.
