About Norse Atlantic Airways
Norse Atlantic is a Norwegian low-cost long-haul airline based in Arendal, Norway.
The airline was founded in February 2021 and its first flight was in June 2022 from Oslo Gardermoen Airport to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.
Contrary to a common misnomer, Norse is a new airline separate from Norwegian Air, as reported by Forbes. In January 2021, Norwegian liquidated its long-haul flight subsidiaries due to the pandemic, and Norse Airways stepped in to fill the market gap.
The new service between London and Cape Town will be Norse Atlantic’s first destination in Africa.
“We are thrilled to introduce our new route between London and Cape Town. By breaking the duopoly on this route, we are not only expanding travel options for consumers but also driving down costs and putting the customer back in the pilot’s seat.”
Bjorn Tore Larsen, Norse chief executive and founder
