Orlando Pirates are believed to be monitoring the situation pertaining to a Golden Arrows star for next season.

Pirates signed two players in the January transfer window, in Thabiso Lebitso and Talent Mbatha but might add another.

The club does not seem to be resting on their laurels as they have already eyed targets for the next window. A list that features players that like DRC striker Andy Boyeli, Ivorian striker Freddy Kouablan and winger Shaune Mogaila. It’a also worth noting that there the likes of goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali and defender Riaan Hanamub linked to Pirates too. Although they might not ended up signing all of those players, indications are that they will be active.

With those names already being mooted for a potential move to Pirates, another name seems to have returned. That coming in the form of reported former target Velemseni Ndwandwe of Arrows. It is believed that the Buccaneers had been monitoring the central midfielder for quite some time, without officially lodging a bid.

There now seems to be every chance, that changes with Ndwandwe set to be a free agent come season end. According to Soccer-Laduma, the player is being closely monitored by Pirates.

PIRATES MONITORING NDWANDWE?

“Golden Arrows box-to-box midfielder and captain Velemseni Ndwandwe is open to a move. The player has attracted interest from Gauteng-based clubs, with Pirates and Sekhukhune keeping an eye on his situation. The player’s contract is set to finish at the end of the current season and as things stand, he is eligible to sign a pre-contract with any team of his choice,” said the source to the same publication.

Pirates currently have a plethora of midfielders at their disposal. Players such as Miguel TimmNdabayithethwa Ndlondlo and Thabang Monare being regulars for the club. They already face stiff competition from Makhehlene MakhaulaSiphelo BaloniFortune Makaringe and the newly signed Talent Mbatha. It then remains to be seen where Ndwandwe would fit into the equation should he join.
