The Democratic Alliance (DA) will launch its political manifesto on Saturday, 17 February, in Tshwane and the party says it’s ready to occupy the Union Buildings.

The party says ‘Tintswalo,’ the child of democracy, is not living the dream promised by the ANC, and the hope of a ‘New Dawn’ has faded into a dusk of despair.

MANIFESTO NOT EMPTY PROMISES BUT PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS: DA

“This manifesto is not just a piece of paper; it’s a manifesto created afresh from the bottom up. New research and new economics underpin our approach, ensuring practical and workable solutions to the challenges facing our nation,” says Ivan Meyer, the DA Federal Chairperson.

Meyer says the manifesto is not a set of empty promises but a data-driven, well-researched document addressing South Africa’s current crises.

PAST FIVE YEARS HAVE BEEN DECAY AND DECLINE SAYS DA

“Our plan focuses on cutting wasteful spending, fixing the electricity crisis through privatisation, investing in education, and fostering an environment for economic growth,” he said.

The DA says over the past five years, we have witnessed the decay and decline of South Africa, particularly in ending load-shedding, rising poverty, swelling unemployment queues, and corruption, which it said was reaching unprecedented levels.

FROM CHURCH SQUARE TO UNIION BUILDINGS

The manifesto launch will start at Church Square, where thousands will gather before marching to the Union Buildings.

“The DA and our partners in the Multi-Party Charter are the Government in Waiting, and that is why the executive seat has been chosen for the launch of our Manifesto,” Meyer said.
