The match was dead-locked at 1-1 after 90 minutes after Nigeria opened the scoring thanks to a 67th-minute penalty by William Troost-Ekong.
Teboho Mokoena then stepped up to equalise from the penalty spot in the 90th minute.

Extra time provided no goals, sending the tie to penalties.
Nigeria showed their mettle, winning the lottery of the penalty shootout 4-2.

The Super Eagles will take on the winner of the second semi-final between hosts Ivory Coast and DR Congo in the final on Sunday, 11 February.
Kick-off is at 22:00 (SA time).
Bafana Bafana will play the loser of the second semi-final in the third-place playoff 24 hours earlier.
