The Multi-Party Charter (MPC) believes that it has a good chance of scoring votes in provinces like KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng from the African National Congress (ANC) following the defection of former president Jacob Zuma. Freedom Front Plus CEO Pieter de Necker says people are sick and tired of what is happening in South Africa under the rule of the ANC. He says this presents an opportunity for the multi-party coalition to claim votes because the country is ready for a new government after 30 years of ANC rule. On Thursday, leaders from the eleven political parties under the charter are hosting a voter registration drive campaign at the Johannesburg City Hall. This comes after the coalition bloc recently installed ActionSA councilor Dr. Nasiphi Moya in the newly formed position of deputy mayor amid criticism from opposition parties that the City can’t afford the appointment.
